Photogrammetry as a tool for accessibility and inclusion; a case study of Anne Lister’s diary

This research project will assess the feasibility of producing a digital heritage strategy for one of the Anne Lister diaries. Photogrammetry is the chosen strategy to provide accessibility and inclusivity for a variety of users, also creating a digital surrogate for long-term preservation. Within this research, the archives service will be examined to give a background on their role in society, where they sit within the heritage sector, funding available and accessibility of records and how digitisation is being championed. This research will look at the Importance of Anne Lister and her diaries, using Caroline Reeds’ significance 3.0 to assess the diaries significance. A case study of creating the digital strategy will be discussed, along with any problems identified. Then finally, the feasibility of this type of digital heritage being undertaken by members of the archive and any implications.
