Reverse logistics and its potential relationship with sustainability practices is an underdeveloped research field, but could have significant future implications for businesses. This could be especially true for high return industries such as online fashion retail. This study aims to explore this developing research topic by conducting a literature review and an evaluative case study of the reverse logistics operations of a major online fashion retailer. It was concluded that reverse logistics might have significant importance for the adoption of concepts such as circular supply chains, however substantial barriers and challenges exist for adoption of these models. There is also a significant amount of literature gaps within this field for future academic research.
