The objective throughout the duration of this study is to further strengthen and examine feminist agenda through analysing female popstars and their attitudes and behaviours surrounding feminism – discussing the potential evolutions and metamorphisms feminism and women are undergoing throughout the 21st century and how they have been applied and practiced. Through this research I also intend to examine the behavioural aspects of the industry and society, and how popular and mass culture intertwine and affect the narratives pushed onto women through easy accessibility that elements such as fame and the internet has granted members of Western society. I will deliberate areas such as the pornography industry and how it has been expelled through hegemonic masculine relationships, discourse and inclusion within feminism from feminists critics alike as well as the new wave of sexual liberation identifiable in current female popstars. It is my goal to shed light onto the fear people share when change is incited, and feminism is an immortalised vessel of necessary change. Through feminism, we as a collective should view gender as a balanced spectrum instead of a tug and war between male agencies that fear losing control, and through the analysis of female popstars who are embodying our current changes through the likes of fourth wave feminism, I intend to encourage and support all feminine liberation to necessitate equality.
