This dissertation was created from a love of horseracing and explores how the British Print media represent jockeys’ cocaine use. This is a case study on Kieren Fallon, six-time champion jockey, he failed two drugs tests a couple of years apart. This research aims to see how he is represented in three different newspapers, the Sun (tabloid), the Guardian (broadsheet) and the Racing Post (specialist), by the frames. A significant part of this research is looking into the representation of drug users and whether Fallon does or does not fit the stereotypes the British media often uses. There will be a brief comparison across the three newspapers and between the first and second incident to see if there are any substantial differences in representations.
