This thesis will use a thematic analysis of the Netflix original films To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before as well as the Bechdel and Vito Russo tests and an extensive literature review of the existing discourse, in order to develop a greater understanding of Representations of Romantic and Sexual Relationships in Contemporary British and Hollywood Cinema, Focussing on the Probable Impact on Young Women. It notes the way in which minorities are represented within contemporary cinema and both the detrimental and beneficial ways that female can be impacted.
